Newcastle United Football Club is an English professional football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, that plays in the Premier League which is the top-flight of English football. The club was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. The team plays its home matches at St. James’ Park. All Premier League clubs have an all-seater stadium, the ground was adjusted in the mid-1990s and currently has a capacity of 52,305.
The club has been a member of the Premier League for all but three years of the competition’s history, spending 88 seasons in the top-flight as of July 2020, and have never dropped below English football’s second tier since joining the Football League in 1893. Newcastle have won 4 League titles, 6 FA Cups and a Charity Shield, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup, the ninth highest total of trophies won by an English club. The club’s most successful period was between 1904 and 1910, when they won an FA Cup and three of their League titles. Newcastle were relegated in 2009, and again in the 2016 season. The club won promotion at the first time of asking each time, returning to the Premier League, as Championship winners, in 2010 and 2017.
As of the 2019–20 season, Newcastle United have spent 88 seasons in the top-flight. They are eighth in the all-time Premier League table and have the ninth-highest total of major honours won by an English club with 11 wins. The club’s top goal scorer is Alan Shearer, who scored 206 goals in all competitions between 1996 and 2006. Andy Cole holds the record for the most goals scored in a season: 41 in the 1993–94 season in the Premier League. Shay Given is the most capped international for the club, with 134 appearances for Republic of Ireland. Alan Shearer returned for one more season in the 2005–06 season. This last season saw him break Jackie Milburn’s 49-year-old record of 200 goals for Newcastle United when he netted his 201st strike in a home Premier League fixture against Portsmouth on 4 February 2006, becoming the club’s highest-ever league and cup competition goal scorer with 201 goals altogether. On 17 April 2006, Shearer suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee after a collision during a 4–1 win at Sunderland in which he scored his 206th and final goal in what was his 395th appearance for the club.
St James’ Park is a football stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Premier League club Newcastle United F.C. With a seating capacity of 52,305 seats, it is the eighth largest football stadium in England. St James’ Park has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892 and has been used for football since 1880. Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium’s asymmetrical stands. Besides club football, St James’ Park has also been used for international football, at the 2012 Olympics, for the rugby league Magic Weekend, rugby union World Cup, Premiership and England Test matches, charity football events, rock concerts, and as a set for film and reality television.

Fantastic John ..about the.old.players ..I see all.the time.old players from .other.clubs on sky sports and remembered fondly ..example Gary Rowell from Sunderland !!..the same week we.lost willie.McFaul sadly nothing from the club or sky sports which I found really sad great John I agreed with virtually all you said thank you especially about the training ground+ stadium !!

I wasn’t wanting the conference league but Wor Gibbo has changed my mind, makes sense keeping in the rhythm of 2-3 games a week to get used to it season on season.

This season all the clubs seem to have highs and lows. Villa have fallen off a cliff. Man City did us in the FA cup and then got smashed 3-0 by Madrid. I know there are always what-ifs but imagine if Issac had stayed for one extra season we could be having a sensational season. Issac was a snake but the reality is Liverpool offered to double his salary. This is going to happen again for Sandro, Tino, Lewis. We need a strategy to handle the wage disparity
