How would you grade South Africa in 2024 out of 10? Back to back world champions, so nothing to prove, right? Well…maybe they felt they needed to prove a point to Ireland when they came to the Republic. And maybe they felt like they needed to win a rare Rugby Championship trophy.

Hello, perhaps it's opportune to consider the Springboks' 2025 games and likely results… A bit of science, but mostly just a "feel" for things. Let me get the ball rolling. The books play (lucky) 13 games. I predict a 46% success rate. The Boks will lose 1 game to Oz, 1 to Arg, both to Abs, France and Ireland. My rationale, 2025 will be the year for consolidating a team for 2027, which will entail a lot of risk and building. What do you think?
Material mate. Sorry for spelling the error. I fell asleep
Tim you are slacking, we have heard your trip to SA too many times. New materiak mate
Boks have a 8.5 out of 10
My biggest concern for SA is at 9. Faf and Cobus are getting up there with age, and opposition have clearly studied how to counter Hendriks. He takes to long at the ruck, doesn´t look at the opposition and has a two movement pass. Consider the all round threat that du Preez and Joost had at reading the game, incredible. The Boks need a Roigard, Du Pont or Gibson-Park to get them to 2027.
I don't get the argument that it's the entire teams fault when Manie misses kicks…
Great Channel for Rugby thank you Tim.
9/10 for results….10/10 for new approach
Henco van Wyk. What a player.
Love your balanced and even handed approach. Keep it up
Thank you Tim. This is the cherry on top when you reflect on the year gone by . Your reviews and analysis is of the highest order. Respect
Lions centre is Henco van Wyk
Developing depth at hooker should definitely be a area of focus for Rassie going forward. Marx and Mbonambi need a solid back-up
A 9 understandable they're rotating players, i don't want to see new players at a world cup and their best have 50 caps the rest have 10
I think that a Salient point in the make-up of "Springboks" for the future, harks back to 1995. It was then that the truly inspirational President Nelson Mandela recognised the potency of the national team to the psyche of South Africa as a nation and threw his support wholeheartedly, despite opposition from even many of his own political party, behind the traditional colours, emblem and name of "The SPRINGBOKS". Under the captaincy of Francois Pienaar, who recognised and totally supported Mandela's beliefs and aims, "The Springboks" won "The Rugby World Cup" that year. For the first time many non-whites actually celebrated the win, thanks to the inclusion of Chester Williams, selected for the national squad, purely on his ability, not merely as a token-non white player. Through successive seasons, the South African Rugby Selectors, have had an ever increasing pool of highly talented young players from all races, to choose from. Also, as an increasingly "multi-racial" team, where talent alone, is the sole criteria for inclusion, has not only given the now cherished team a huge pool to draw from, but also led to massive levels of support from all sectors of society, across the nation. I am sure that no other nation enjoys quite the same level of support, or so many young who now dream realistically
with a real chance of succeeding in their ambitions of becoming a "SPRINGBOK"…" GO BOKKE "..!!
8.5 and maybe closer to 8. There's still 20%+ improvement needed but it will come 😉
Well done Timothy my prayers are answered Bokke jersey suits you…
Citizenship next…
Henko van Wyk
Agree with the 9/10. I think if we win the Irish series then you could make the augment for a 10/10 season. So a last minute drop goal is all that is standing between an amazing year and a perfect year.
faf will propably be back
10/10 if we put a team on every game we would have one every game next year we going to get serius
Nice shirt Bru
I look forward to your videos!! it's been a journey with you Tim
Amazing insight and unashamedly tell it as it is. Well said regarding Rassie @ 7:40 "Risk loosing in order to gain experience for 27" True indeed how R grow depth. Love from Pretoria SA.
Tim you bring me to tears of joy. You are always welcome in my house
Great take Tim! I do think that we won't have quite as many top players per position by 2027. Some stalwarts won't be there anymore and others won't be at their current levels anymore. That's why the new recruits are so exciting and the fact that there are so many of them. So instead of 3, we'll only have 2 world-class options in every position .
I'd pick Grant as first choice BUT prefer him as an impact sub, and I think that's the real issue
If I was a boks fan I would be very happy. They won the rugby championship, they brought on some great new players and set themselves up nicely for the lead in to the next world cup.
Thank you Tim you such a real person the world needs more people like you❤
