haha awesome !
Mdr !
dude you're wrong, this haka is ridiculous… just the way they moove, and the way they sing …
This war dance is not ridiculous at all, I've heard of people who've seen the new zealand haka for the first time calling it ridiculous only because how different it may seem to their culture.
i agree dude !
madagascar are descendant of maori 🙂 thank you for your intervention. i know this haka is ridiculous but madagascar people are austronesian like new zeland, tsona, tahiti ect
i'm from madagascar and this haka is bullshit !
People of madagascar are austronesian, we have haka too !
hakas are meant to intimidate the opposition. theyr suppose to be ruthless
yup….don't misuse the term.
American football teams use Haka to get pumped up before their matches. US Army and Navy use it for similar reasons but also to bond. And it is certainly pleasant to see other countries endorsing the concept, which is a tremendous achievement for the Maori culture. One thing you should know, war dances existed in Africa thousands of years before New Zealand. I say Bravo Madagascar and hopefully you grow into a good Rugby nation..
No they wouldn't, Haka is ONLY Maori. It was called Haka before the Europeans got here and just like Tonga has the Sipi Tau, Samoa has the Siva Tau and Fiji has the Cibi. Madagascar probably has a name for theirs and anybody saying otherwise is disrespecting both cultures.
yes!!!! full match please
please ! full match to game final
I am from Magagascar and a rugbyman as well, proud of the malagasy national team, those are the Makis of Madagascar, one of the best rugby teams of Africa.
u guys do know that madagascans didnt make this vid and probably call their war dance something else right it was the poms who made this vid that associated a pre match war dance with the haka and used that term because it is well known in the rugby community.
This mislabeling actually tells you how far removed the administration is from the game of rugby.
I agree with your argument here, but a quick survey among the culturally ignorant in the office here, would seem to indicate that to some at least, "a Haka is a war dance done by sports teams before matches". Maybe the name will become synonymous with such activity – something for Maoris to be proud of!
I agree Haka is a word of Maori origin, but it's in my English dictionary! What right do Maori's have to claim exclusive use of a term when they freely use English terminology in their own language? I accept "Champagne" is protected by some pretty fierce trade labeling rules in many countries, but in normal conversation in the US, AUS and NZ, "Champagne" is not so specific. I also accept that if the Wallabies or Scots did a traditional/native war dance at a test, they would not call it a Haka.
It may be a NZ word and NZ tradition,, but descriptive language from many cultures slips into English and not much can be done to protect the origin of the definition. Champagne is a place in France where they make a bubbly white wine – lots of people have copied this or make a similar product, but they don't call it "bubbly white wine", they call it Champagne. If it looks like Champagne and tastes like Champagne… NZ can't claim exclusive use of this term. Don't speak English then?
Call it what you will but that is great! And well done Madagascar on beating Namibia!
I think I read somewhere the crowd was more than 30k.
And look at the size of that crowd!!!!
This would have been an amazing game to witness. That crowd is huuuuuggggeee!!!
Haka is specific to new zealand. You can do a war dance anywhere though
Love Madagascar's enthusiasm for rugby. It is just as popular there as it is in New Zealand.
smh that was not it ….
Why should "Haka" only be from NZ? Is Ballet only only from Italy? Can only the French drink Champane? Is Rugby only for the English? If it looks like a Haka…
the haka is called in Madagascar " Diha Menalamba "
why would they say madagascan , haka is the name for the nz dance
Only for nz you sir are a moron
Please , match integral ? thanks you avanced
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im a bee
I have yet to see a war dance that is nearly as intimidating as the Maori Haka.
